Terms of Business & Removal Services Policy
1. Company Overview
These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by EXPRESS MOVERS & MPS LTD (“the Company”). By confirming a booking, the customer agrees to these terms.
2. Services Provided
We offer:
- Residential and commercial removals
- Packing and unpacking services
- Furniture disassembly and reassembly
- Secure storage solutions
We do not transport:
- Hazardous or illegal items
- Perishable goods
- Cash, jewellery, or important personal documents
3. Pricing Structure
Hourly Rate Services
- £55 per van per hour
- Time starts upon arrival and ends upon completion
- Includes loading, transport, and unloading
Fixed Price Services
- Based on customer-provided details
- Subject to revision if:
- Inventory changes
- Access conditions differ
- Additional work is required
4. Booking & Payment Terms
- A 25% deposit is required to secure all bookings
- Remaining balance must be paid:
- Before unloading, or
- Immediately upon completion
Accepted payment methods:
The Company reserves the right to retain goods until full payment is received.
5. Cancellation & Rescheduling
- Minimum 48 hours’ notice required
- Deposits are non-refundable within 48 hours
- Rescheduling is subject to availability
- Late cancellations may be charged up to the full booking value
6. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must:
- Ensure items are packed unless packing is booked
- Provide accurate details of:
- Arrange parking and permits
- Ensure readiness at agreed time
Failure may result in delays or additional charges.
7. Packing Services
- Items packed by our team are covered under our liability policy
- We are not responsible for damage to items packed by customers
- Fragile or valuable items must be declared in advance
8. Storage Services
- Storage is available upon request
- Terms and pricing are agreed separately
- Items must be properly packed before storage
9. Delays & Waiting Time
- All times are estimates, not guarantees
- Delays due to traffic, weather, or access issues are not our liability
Waiting time is charged at £55 per hour per van
10. Liability & Insurance
- We provide limited liability cover for goods in transit
- We are not liable for:
- Customer-packed items
- Fragile or poorly packed items
- Pre-existing damage
Customers should arrange additional insurance for high-value goods.
11. Damage & Claims
- Must be reported within 24 hours
- Must include photos and description
- Late claims may not be accepted
12. Health & Safety
We may refuse to move items that:
- Are unsafe
- Exceed safe lifting limits
Safe working conditions must be provided.
13. Refusal of Service
We may refuse or stop work if:
- There is abusive behaviour
- Conditions are unsafe
- Undisclosed risks are identified
14. Data Protection
All customer data is handled in line with UK GDPR.
15. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our control.
16. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
17. Agreement
By booking with EXPRESS MOVERS & MPS LTD, the customer agrees to these terms.
